Post-series-2 Crowley is obviously despondent, and makes the very important decision to wreak actual havoc. He's going to tempt the shit out of every human in his path, do actual crimes, and not think of the consequences. Which are considerable. More than considerable. Some might say terrible.
But when an attack of conscience coincides with the heretofore un-thought-about consequences of his actions, Crowley is going to find himself rightly screwed. And possibly properly dead.
