Summary
Spamton thought it was the end of the world when he saw a beacon of light pierce through the summit of Mount Ebott and soar into the sky, not knowing that he had born witness to the shattering of the ancient barrier that trapped monsterkind beneath the mountain.
Magic had begun to flow back into the world, and creatures he had believed only existed in fairy-tales suddenly began to settle down and live in Elysium city.
At first, he thought he could ignore it, but after his workplace adopts a monster integration program, and he is forced to look after his new coworker, he finds that his life is suddenly full of questions from an obnoxiously curious ant.

Spamton lowered his gaze to the tiny being nestled in his palms, cradling her with trembling care.The hatchling was no bigger than a coffee mug, all soft downy feathers the colour of fresh paper. Two thin antennae, tipped in faint blue, curled up from her small forehead, quivering at every sound. When she breathed, a faint shimmer of static danced across her down, a living echo of the glow that had been inside the Pipis. Moments ago he’d had nothing; now, it felt as though he was holding the world within his hands.

After coming home early and observing Tenna speaking to her, Spamton must face the music he tried so hard to drown out. He must face his fears surrounding parenthood and the next steps in life he must take with Tenna.

“Didn’t know you still [[smokehouse barbeque]],” he said instead, shifting his eyes subtly to watch the smoke drift from Tenna’s soft lips. He choked back a noise.
“Didn’t know I still…? Oh- heh! Y-Yeah.” He shifted his weight, embarrassed at what in his mind seemed to be getting caught. “Some habits just uh… die hard, I guess! I-I don’t do it that often anymore, especially now that I have to help teach the kids, and you know I’ve stopped drinking all together, b-but sometimes I just- When I’m stressed out, I just need to- It’s not like I’m-”
“Still the same [[dazzling new brands]] you used to smoke [[way back when]]?” Spamton gently interrupted, breaking his spiral.
A beat passed before Tenna sighed and resettled again, a tenseness in his shoulders now that made Spamton purse lips he didn’t have.

Samson panted as he hiked up the side of Mount Ebott, trying his best to keep going despite the pain in his body. His back ached, his calves were screaming, his ankles felt about ready to give out by now, but still he pressed on. He needed to make it to the top of the mountain, he couldn’t wait any longer. He’d heard rumors about there being an opening at the top of the mountain, an opening that led to the underground where all the monsters had been sealed. The barrier prevented monsters from escaping, but that didn’t mean that humans couldn’t enter, or at least Sam hoped that was the case. But he couldn’t afford to be wrong, he was running out of time…

After a year together in Castletown, Spamton and Tenna were really starting to get used to their new, docile lives with one another. But it seems as though nothing really stays the same for long in Castletown. Often now, new darkners were being welcomed into the ramshackle town, constantly were new buildings being built and new rooms were being added the castle. But that wasn’t the only thing that was starting to change, as Spamton started to notice a strange glow emitting from underneath his plastic parts one morning.

“You, uh. Sure know your way around a CRT,” Tenna says. “I didn’t know you were a mechanic.”
“I sell cars,” Spamton had replied, back when Tenna was addressing him. “If you talk [Big] with nothing to back it up, people think you’re a hack.”
“Well,” Tenna said, “are you?”
Spamton sprayed the compressed air into his smug face.
That would have been preferable to drowning in insulation foam and getting licked clean by a clown (“HANDS OFF THE [[Officil Merchandise]]!!”). Jevil’s nuisance was missed as soon it was over though, because then all he had was the realization that that was his last chance. To do what, he isn’t sure. To demand an apology. To explain why he ran away. To scream at him. To break that stupid screen himself, just to get it over with, and crawl inside there never to emerge. Then at least they’d be together.

An unseen, silent, approximately 4 foot tall individual takes it upon himself to fix the fallen Lord of the Screens. To raise a middle finger to the mysterious phone-calling, prophecy-defining benefactor who screwed him over and made him a living puppet, of course. No other reason.

In between adventures, Spamton is left to his own devices in Castle Town. He was given a place to stay and has set up a small shop to give himself something to do. He sells spare parts and tools, but also toys that he builds from scraps on occasion. All is going swell enough until the day the TV World Darkners move in. It was inevitable, Spamton knew that. However, he can't help but wonder if one TV Darkner in particular would be there. If he had survived long enough to be recruited...reunited. Spamton must tackle whether he's ready to see him again. Ready to love him again.
