Summary
The hallway light flared white when he reached the entrance. He unlocked the outer door and caught the smell of rain and blood at once. Zhou Zishu staggered forward a half step and stopped. His shirt clung wetly to his skin, torn open near the ribs, dark with blood. His left hand shook around something. No weapon, just the habit of reaching for one.
And then...
“…didn’t know where else to go.”The words came out slurred, lips pale, and then his knees buckled.
Wen Kexing moved before thinking, catching him under the arms. The weight hit him hard, dead and heavy, and he realized how cold the other man’s skin was through soaked fabric.
“Zhou Zishu.” He said it like a curse and a question at once. “What the hell happened to you?”

Summary
Speaking of his husband, the other man was curled up on top of him, his head in the crook of Xie Lian’s neck, and his full body weight pressing him further into the mattress. Xie Lian thinks that if he was a mortal, the weight of the ghost king on him would simply be crushing, but instead, he feels content as his beloved allows himself to sleep in such proximity.
Having his husband draped over him like this, Xie Lian couldn’t help but feel like Hua Cheng was laying a claim on him, even if it was subconsciously. A thrum of happiness ran through Xie Lian as he thought that if anyone else were to see them like this, it would be obvious they belonged to nobody but each other.

Three heads are significantly worse than one when two of those heads are Pei Ming and Feng Xin, or so Mu Qing emphatically believes. However, he can't bring himself to mind it too much that he had to carry the three of them through a mission—not when Feng Xin is apparently impressed enough by it to spirit him away into the nearby woods and, for the first time ever, finally kiss him.

Summary
What makes Zhou Zishu slow his steps, in the end, is a sweet, honeyed scent that makes his skin tingle, real and intriguing and entirely unexpected in between the artificial perfumes worn by whores and patrons alike. He soon spots its owner, nursing a bottle of wine on the terrace of a place that promises plays and dance inside, and beauties to match the lovely performances.
None of them, however, could ever match this man.
