Before her heart stopped, Azula listened to her murderer laugh in her face, and made herself a fevered promise. A prayer to Agni, Tui and La, the autumn lord, any and every other spirit that could hear.
For the first time in her life, Azula prayed. The spirits looked at her life and found her wanting, undeserving.
They granted her wish anyway.

Summary
“Sokka,” Fire Lord Zuko speaks up. “Are you done talking to them? Because if so-”
“Let's say I'm done, but we'll still have to talk,” says Older Sokka. “We have a problem. More precisely, five problems. These are not members of the New Ozai Society, trying to kill you by disguising themselves as us. It's us. From the past.”
“Hey!” objects loudly younger Sokka. “What are you doing, future me?”
Or: on their way to the North Pole, Aang, Katara and Sokka are ambushed by Zuko and his uncle. Somehow, this leads to them visiting the future.
