He snaps his eyes up to him, observing the look on his face which lies somewhere between a ‘I’m ready for a gate to the Upside Down to open and swallow me right now.’ and ‘I’m deeply sorry for what I’m about to do next.’

“Thankful? You want me to be thankful?” Katsuki leans right into Izuku’s space and lets out a mean laugh. “What? You expect me to grovel?” Izuku opens his mouth to deny it, but Katsuki cuts him off, tone dripping with derisive sarcasm. “You’re right, Deku. Thank you so much. What would I do without you around to keep me safe?”
Izuku’s mouth goes dry and he can feel his heart beating hard against his ribcage. He knows Kacchan is making fun of him but his body doesn’t seem to have gotten the memo. Blood rushes to his head and then seems to do a U-turn and go directly south.
“Kacchan…” he says, not sure if he wants to tell Katsuki to shut up or keep going.
Or Deku has a kink for Katsuki thanking him.
