Instead of being born to Helena Sandsmark, Cassie was born to Helen of Troy and Zeus. Due to a curse put upon her by Hera, Cassie is forced to part with her mother and be raised on Themyscira, unable to age until she meets the one who will cause her the most suffering.
Enter Rose Wilson, a human child who causes Cassie to grow up. The pair meet up again and again over the course of a hundred years, falling together and falling apart. With their lives, love, and family on the line, there's only so much they can do to fight against fate.

“Why not?” Leo scoffed. “It’s obvious you’re in love with her, and this is as good of an excuse as any to ask her out. She’d say yes.”
“I– No!” Piper spluttered. “That’s crazy!”
“What? Her saying yes?”
“No! Well, yes that, too,” Piper stammered. “But I meant the me being in love with her thing!”
“Wait, you’re saying you’re not in love with her?” Leo asked. “I just figured the two of you were doing the whole lesbian sheep syndrome thing.”
“What?”
“You know, lesbian sheep syndrome,” Leo prompted. “It’s that thing where two women are into one another but they’re both waiting for the other to make a move, so nothing ever happens.”
“Shut up, I know what lesbian sheep syndrome is,” Piper snapped.

Miko, presumptuous as always, glides past Sara. "Well, you're right. I didn't have time for lunch today. Anyway," she says, dropping a large bag on the floor with a loud thunk and placing a graceful hand on her hip, "show me the body. We've got work to do."

Part of her wants to stomp away like a child, but she looks up and meets eyes with Rose. She stands a couple meters away like she was approaching, one hand gripped around the pommel of her weapon. Cheeks red, Cassie looks away and walks past with only a glance at the NYU Fencing Club patch on the arm of Rose's jacket.
