In the corner of his eye Steve can see Nancy start to bop in her seat with the beat of the song that is playing on the radio and soon enough she starts singing along. He grips the steering wheel harder and pointedly keeps his eyes on the road.
In his head he can hear the familiar sounds of a heavy guitar streaming together with angry voices that somehow formed songs Steve still did not understand could come out of a human being.
Steve is good at lying to himself most times, of playing dumb when he wants to, but is hard when the truth is literally screaming inside of him.

I just couldn’t get the idea of Steve staying in Hawkins as a watcher in case shit goes down again out of my head. So here we are. Because when you get used to shit coming back again and again and again, what else are you supposed to expect?
