Xue Yang is right. The truth is that Song Lan had almost done exactly that. He’d had his phone in his hands, a curt message typed out, but in the end he hadn’t sent it, the pure want winning from the nervousness that had roiled in his stomach.
“If I hadn’t liked you I wouldn’t be here. “ Song Lan replies, measured and calm. He looks Xue Yang straight in the eyes and he notices that the line of Xue Yang’s shoulders relaxes, as if he had been waiting for reassurance. Then he smiles, almost smug and takes another sip from his glass. When he sets it down on the table he traces the edge with the tip of a finger. The tension between them smolders.

Summary
When Vox finally manages to capture the Radio Demon, he expects drama, threats, and maybe a monologue about “the good old days.”
What he doesn’t expect is for Alastor to be running a fever high enough to fry circuitry.
Too stubborn to admit he’s sick and too proud to accept help, Alastor becomes Vox’s unexpected responsibility, snark, brattiness, coughing fits and all.
Vox wanted victory. Instead, he gets a miserable, feverish rival wrapped in a blanket and refusing to take his medicine.
This is not how the broadcast was supposed to go...or captured Alastor gets sick, Vox tries to help but Alastor is still a brat
