Everything came crashing down on them. Literally. The sound of the side of the building collapsing on top of the car they were in was deafening—chunks of drywall, metal, and a blanket of dust covering them in no time. It left them in the dark aftermath where all they could hear was each other’s ragged breathing.
“Fuck.” Maggie cursed as she tried to get out of the car.
So everything came crashing down on her figuratively as well, Maggie decided. Because now she wasn’t just stuck in a car, she was stuck with him.
