Summary
The look in Ilya’s eyes was undeniable. They had spent years dancing around each other, denying and pushing and turning away, but Shane was tired of it. He was tired of hiding, tired of pretending he only wanted Ilya in the dark, in hotel rooms and rushed nights and stolen moments. Maybe it was the heat talking, or maybe it was his exhausted heart giving way under the pressure of Ilya’s warm eyes.
Shane invites Ilya to the cottage to share his first heat together, and repressed feelings bubble to the surface.

Summary
Ilya doesn’t celebrate his birthday, and this one is no different. He’s spending it alone, with only a bottle of vodka and his spiralling mind for company; at least, until the doorbell rings. Expecting a teammate, or Yuna and David, Ilya reluctantly greets his surprise visitor, who ends up being exactly the person he needs.
OR
Shane surprises Ilya by visiting him on his birthday, and unwittingly pulls him back from the precipice of a downward mental spiral.
