The iron gates open outwards behind him, and the heavy, carved doors pull inwards, as if the man belongs—as if everything is opening for him, and the sun throws its rays solely to stretch out his shadow and make Oliver squint and shade his eyes like the man is a god. For a brief moment, Oliver wonders if he is.
Because what else but a god could come back from the dead?
