Summary
After losing a long time patient to addiction, Robby has a wake up call. After years of walking through life drunk, he finally makes the dive into the cold, harsh sea that is recovery. AA, therapy, facing the worst parts of himself during an extended sabbatical, Robby knows that he has no choice but to just let it happen if he wants to get better. No more going to work drunk. No more pushing away friends
Recovery is hard and painful, but when Robby stumbles upon a new bakery on one of his 'mental health walks', life starts to look up just a little bit. Replacing alcohol for sweet pastries and tea doesn't sound too bad, right?
OR
Robby's alcoholism gets out of hand, forcing him into recovery. Dennis owns a bakery, and Robby finds himself becoming the newest regular.

Summary
“Heads up, someone’s coming down from pedes to take a look at our baby Jane Doe.” Dana says, phone tucked between her ear and shoulder. Robby feels his entire body stiffen.
“Oh?” He says, trying to go for casual as he leans up against the desk. He looks up at the glowing board above the two of them, scanning for his patients. “Do we know who?”
Dana levels a look at him as she hangs up the phone, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
“The one and only.” She glances over at the black thermos sitting innocently next to them, a bright yellow sticker faded with some age, corners curling, with bold letters saying ‘good job’.
“Ah. Right.”

Santos put up her hands defensively. “Hey, I’ve got nothing against the guy. Robby’s a great doctor and a good boss. I just… I mean he is like twice your age, man.”

Summary
If anyone asked, Robby could easily tell the story with a lovesick smile and eyes focused only on the younger man as if he hung the moon and stars himself. A rough hand caressing his arm before intertwining their fingers.
“It was almost like fate.” He would say, awe in his tone, still surprised at how this man chose to be with him.
If anyone asked Dennis, he would look at you with furrowed eyebrows and a slowly reddening face as he’d reply, “What do you mean? Dr. Robby and I aren’t dating.”

Summary
Dr. Robby is too old for this. Too old to be losing sleep over a resident.
It starts slowly. Favours and conversation. Things that last longer than they should.
He tells himself it isn’t anything. Just a temporary lapse in judgment. But the way Dennis looks at him makes everything harder.
And Robby, who has spent his entire life being careful, realizes he may have already passed the line of no return.
