Spidey makes a strained noise. He perks up, suddenly alert; she's never complained about travelling once until now. Is it a hidden injury? A strained ankle? Her feet seem to be fine, with the way she keeps hitting the front— wait. "I guess you're right…"
"Spidey, 4C," he rushes towards them, "stop swinging your legs—"
Too late, the hinge snaps and dislodges the hood. It collapses abruptly and sends the two backwards into the pit with a collective yelp. Beneath them, he hears the engine bay smash into pieces.
"ACK!"
"You're kidding me," he hisses.
Or: The noises that unceremoniously show up in Jonathan's life, and what it means to live with them. He also forgets that humans need to sleep.

Martyn's boots crunch against leaves and gravel as he approaches the house, the small flyer clutched in one hand. It looks like any other old house, albeit tinged with the same eeriness that plagues this area. The windows are dirty, and the highest window, which Martyn can only assume is the attic, is boarded over. The eaves slope in odd places, and the front step creaks loudly as Martyn steps up to the door.
This house, he notices, boasts yet another willow, tall and looming over the house’s back windows. It, too, has lost most of its leaves, its branches abandoned to sway in the wind, creaking and scratching against each other and the wall.
The willow isn't the only sound. Martyn can hear another odd noise, but he can't for the life of him place what it's supposed to be. It sounds kind of like something wailing on the wind... is that the beast the flyer was for?
Or, Martyn takes a job to slay a beast trapped within a family's attic.
