Summary
Jean feels the urge to bite his hand to still the shaking. A particularly rough game against Arizona’s Wildcats had left Jean with a broken wrist and bruised hips, and off the court much too long for his comfort. Here he sits, on the Trojans bench, barely holding back the restlessness that crawls along his arms and legs. He has to hold back the urge to move, either by shaking his leg or simply pacing in the small space next to the side court benches.
“Jean? Are you there?” Brown eyes, like soil in a garden.
Jeremy is looking at him, a concerned pinch in his brows and a hand hovering out, as if he wants to put a comforting palm on Jean’s knee but can’t—won’t—close the distance until Jean says.
“Talk to me. Tell me what’s wrong,” Jeremy was still staring at Jean.

He looked at Sirius sharply, and for once, matched his grin. “Yeah.”
“Maybe that’s my excuse then,” Sirius said. “I cause a bit of chaos now, and maybe one day, it’ll turn into rock and roll.”After losing his mother at age eleven, Remus has spent the better part of the last four years bouncing from school to school or else running around London and pretending as though he wasn't the kind of well-bred boy his father brought him up to be. Now, with his chances all run out, Remus is sent to Hawkings Independent School as a last-ditch effort to clean up his act. There he meets the very people who will set up the rest of his life, and is forced to confront the pieces of himself he'd long thought had been lost.

Something like a love story from the summer of 1978, full of Southern Cuts and Old Style, shitty motel rooms, and questionable decisions. Poor excuse for poetry and late night dancing, a trip to Vegas, and one too many honeymoon suites.
