    Endeavor dies.

    He dies in excruciating physical agony alongside what he can only think to describe as a state of complete emotional paralysis. He dies in a swirl of scorching white-blue flame, as beautiful as it is deadly, and he takes a final breath that’s choked with ash and grime and dust and so much heat.

    And then—

    “The symbol I strove to be…” he hears All Might saying, somewhere to his left. “That isn’t the path for you to follow. Take your time to figure out the way you ought to do things.”

    The Usurper had once been a formidable man, with blazing eyes and a massive war hammer. Now, he was just a red-faced fat man, a pathetic drunk who ate as gracefully as a half-starved hog.

    His Queen seemed to be a perpetually unhappy woman. Cersei Lannister was as beautiful as the singers said, though the woman had all the warmth of a dead fish.

    She might have done well in the north, Quen thought, almost pitying.

    I love a good genderbend/cisswap in worlds where capital G Gender is a thing & ASOIAF is no exception. This is a really wonderful exploration of always-a-girl!Theon (who is one of my absolute favorite characters for this kind of AU, if only because the different flavors of virulent misogyny Theon enacts & is exposed to throughout ASOIAF function as a great lens to examine Westerosi gender dynamics).
