Summary
It was a new beginning. A new beginning in which two monsters consumed by their own disguises stood shoulder to shoulder without tearing each other to shreds. A realization that the two could coexist peacefully with nothing but hope towards a brighter and healthier future. They could brag about their strengths, they could show their scars. They were no longer enemies formed by unfortunate circumstances. They had the potential of becoming so much more.
At least, that’s what Simon had thought, until he had made a despicable discovery.

Summary
Nahyuta is always in constant motion, whether that be physically by international flight or metaphorically by their psyche in the aftermath of Ga’ran’s reign. Habits die hard. Though for once, it would be nice to simply be still, just like the monks back at the temple. Nahyuta's always been more of a preacher than an activist, they suppose.
Simon has been stuck for as long as he can remember. Physically, in his prison cell, or psychologically, cowering in the comfort of what he’s always known, what’s safe. Emotions are fickle, though he’s learned recently that they’re a lot more powerful, and in good ways too. He’s no longer in prison, hasn’t been in almost two years now. It’s hard to move on, but he’s trying. Really.

“Neil knows what I want,” Andrew snaps. This is not Andrew’s fault.
“How do you know?”
Because Neil always knows. He is as fluent in Andrew’s micro-expressions as he is in German and French. He knows which head tilts mean “go on” and which ones mean “shut up.” Without ever asking, he learned what it meant to see Andrew wearing double layers of long sleeves, or taking multiple showers in a day, and learned to hand Andrew the car keys.
That has always been the most terrifying thing about Neil — his patience to wait, watch, listen, learn. The prospect that if Neil were given enough time, there would be no part of Andrew that was just Andrew’s anymore.
“He has to know,” Andrew says.
“Does he?” Renee says. “Have you ever known Neil to assume that he is wanted?”

Summary
Neil sees Kevin Day everyday at the train station, but Kevin Day never recognizes Neil.
When Kevin finally does notice Neil, he also immediately falls on the train tracks and succumbs to a coma of indeterminate length.
Then all of Kevin’s friends and family assume Neil is dating Kevin, and Neil doesn’t know how to tell them he hasn’t spoken to Kevin—or anybody at all, really—for almost seven years.
So Neil lets the Foxes think he’s dating Kevin. Just for a little while. Just until Kevin wakes up.

The delicate strawberry roses lend a touch of tartness that makes each bite more than just a dessert- it is an experience.
“It’s okay, right?” Phoenix asks, already cleaning up.
“Perfectly adequate,” Miles says, scraping the side of his fork against the plate to get every last crumb.

(At least, that's what he tries to tell himself.)
Or: enemies-to-lovers, but they were never really enemies in the first place and I lean way too much into their narrative parallels.

He pulls the door open and all his thoughts grind to a halt.
Miles Edgeworth is standing there, dripping with rain and looking a bit like a drowned cat.
If Phoenix was being honest, he’d almost forgotten about him being back amidst the chaos of the day and the conversation with Maya. It’s a novel experience, actually; he can’t remember a time when Edgeworth wasn’t hovering, wanted or not, near the forefront of his mind. But he’s here - he’s real, standing on Phoenix’s doorstep in his dingy hallway in an apartment complex that probably costs less than Edgeworth’s entire salary, looking awkward as all hell.
