But it’s getting to hard to keep down, impossible to ignore. Now that he’s away from that goddamn dorm, away of his parents- (well not parents anymore but still), something needed to give.

Naga scales and skins were even more valuable, particularly after they had been hunted into extinction out of fear. Mermaids were often kept as pets for the wealthy or slaughtered for their scales. Sirens were typically deemed as being too dangerous for captivity and were also hunted into near-extinction.
In the year 3112, nearly every human nation on the planet had passed laws to declare shifter legally equal to humans. Shifter Rights groups had been around since 2987 and by 3100, over two-thirds of human nations had begun legally protecting shifters and their cultures to some extent.
This changing world will not avoid growing pains, however. Many shifters still vividly remember captivity.

Naruto tamped his pheromones a notch lower, reflex more than thought, a warm cinnamon hum contained to his own skin. “You get crowded enough,” he said. “I figured I could be the person who doesn’t crowd you.”
Sasuke didn’t answer immediately. The air shifted, he let the barest thread of his own pheromones slip. Naruto felt the recognition hum along his nerves and, more than anything, was pleased he knew the difference between notice and push.
“What happens,” Sasuke asked, quieter, “if I want you to?
Naruto blinked. “To… crowd you?”

His stomach growls again, another hunger pain, and he snarls once more.
“Bakugou,” he says, voice barely above a raspy growl. “What’s happening to me?” Katsuki walks over, lifting his face without a care of Hitoshi’s feral behavior and lifting the packet to his lips.
“Isn’t it obvious,” Katsuki asks, running a finger over Hitoshi’s elongated canines. A smirk as Katsuki’s eyes seemed to burn a tiny bit brighter.
“You’re turning into a vampire.”
