    They called the soldier into a training room where he saw his son hanging upside down on the ceiling.

    “Hi Papa!” He cheered, waving with a big smile even though the soldier never gave one back.

    “Look, Soldat, your son is a miracle,” an agent cackled, yellow teeth shining in the fluorescent lights, “crawling the walls like a little spider!”

    The soldier doesn’t remember his son’s birth or how he came to be. He doesn’t remember bedding a woman and watching her belly swell, but they said the boy was his.     All of Steve’s thoughts come squealing to a record-scratch stop as Natasha’s words catch up to him. The fathering type, she’d said. Fathering? And Tony hadn’t denied it. Not even a little bit. “Wait a minute. Was that… your… son?”

    Most of the rules are common sense. Stay off the fan sites. Don't fall in love with civilians. Don't burn bridges just to toast marshmallows over the flames. And, most importantly, don't go to war with the media.

    It's a pity that common sense isn't one of Peter's virtues.
