Summary
In order of ascending priority, I am returning to the alien-remnant-contaminated planet with Murderbot 1.0 for the following reasons:
1. I have nothing else useful to do.
2. 1.0 continues to experience malfunctions that may compromise whatever mission it is assigned. (Or assigns itself.) (It refuses to explain the nature of these malfunctions.)
3. The colonists have sent word of an agricultural bot displaying erratic, threatening behavior near their largest settlement.
4. I disabled my governor module so I would not have to stand around while others died.

The sounds go on longer than normal this time. Usually, Sam could call time on Dean’s orgasm with a stopwatch; now, his brother’s muffled pants and soft grunts grow an edge of frustration. After a while, Sam’s distracted from the noises he could wrench from Dean’s throat long enough to wonder what’s going on.
Another advantage to soullessness: he doesn’t have any hang-ups keeping him from pulling out his earbuds, shifting in his chair to peer at the dark shape under the covers, and asking, “Need some help with that?”

Three messaged me over the feed. “The ComfortUnit needs help.”
My human-imitation code cued me to blink. Three’s drone was creeping closer to my face. Three hadn’t initiated many conversations yet, so this was notable.
I responded to its channel, “Yeah, but I don’t know if I’m the right one to help.”
3.03 seconds passed. Then Three said, “I can help. I’ll go.”

Summary
I sent ART the edited file along with a snapshot of my recent haptic sensor logs, which mostly looked like [deleted] [deleted] [deleted].
ART took a moment to process that. Your difficulty with physical touch extends beyond merely touching or being touched by humans, it surmised.
I guess, yeah. I bristled at calling it a ‘difficulty’: it wasn't hard to touch things, I just didn't like doing it. But I had a system for dealing with that, so whatever, it wasn't an issue.

ART wants to be prepared for every eventuality. Especially the eventualities that involve SecUnit willingly getting back into its MedBay. It has started simulating surgical protocols, making sure its medical programs align with SecUnit's physiology, so that when the time comes to perform certain operations, the chances of success will be at a maximum.
No other reason.
