Summary
Wonwoo is just trying to survive in the darkness his uncle's family has made for him. The son of a pack alpha, Wonwoo was orphaned at 11 and taken in by his father's cruel, sadistic relatives. Life in the pack became hell for omegas like him. Now in his mid-twenties, unmated and resigned to a life of servitude in his childhood home, Wonwoo's only joy in life is his little brother, Sunoo. He always swore he'd do anything to protect him, and that determination is finally tested when he hears of a malicious plan his uncle has for the younger omega.
He's never bothered to hope for freedom before, but his love and protectiveness pushes him to take a potentially deadly risk and flee the pack before his brother can be taken from him. He could never have hoped for the turn their lives will take when they accidentally stumble into Serenia pack territory, too weak to keep running. Can he and his brother learn to make a life in the daylight these strangers offer, or will the darkness take them again?

The mess of a cake was placed down in front of him, and he couldn’t stifle his laugh. Twenty-one tiny candles were on top, among sloppy writing that read “Happy Birthday Miller” in red frosting. The rest of the cake was white, and decorated with an assortment of flowers, nuts, and berries. He looked up to see Monty and Clarke looking at him with twin smiles, and he knew it would be the best cake he’d ever had just because they made it for him.
