Jupiter North had expensive tastes.
When he had developed these, he wasn’t so sure.Perhaps it was in his parent’s house, where they insisted on having the finest things.
Or perhaps it was back in the Deucalion, where the mattress was always exactly as he liked.
The beds in the Elder’s Living Quarters were not expensive. More expensive than the ones in the dormitories, sure, but not as expensive as Jupiter was used to.
It was embarrassing to shuffle around so much, the sheets grating at his skin, eyes nearly watering with the leftovers of Elder Wong’s cologne. His heart pounded uncomfortably in his chest, so loudly he wondered if it would deafen him.

His chest heaved with every breath. Had he been in a slightly worse headspace, he would have thrown all his cases against the wall, and then probably into the fire, but he knew that was a bad idea. These records couldn’t be lost. Someday, he would bring these cases to the world and show everybody how little the Government cared about people who needed help.
He narrowed his eyes as a thought occurred to him.
“No.” Rosie said automatically, “No. Stop what you’re thinking right now.”
“I’m not thinking anything.” Jupiter lied.
“You are.” She gestured to his face, “You’re thinking of some plan that’s probably terribly illegal. I’m not even a Witness and I can see it.”
“Don’t worry about it.” He said, quickly rushing over to gather the firebreather’s case into its file again.

Jupiter North has always wanted to help people, and he thought going into Immigration Law would be the best way to do that. But after a year and a half of failed cases, he's ready to take matters into his own hands.
The legal channels aren't working, it's time to get creative.
