“Kuroo Tetsurou,” Kei supplies for him. “I know.”
“Oh.”
Kei glances at him and tries not to notice anything but he notices everything. Because it’s Kuroo Tetsurou and Kuroo Tetsurou is a loud dancer who has a loud presence, even when he’s just sitting on a bench on Nekoma’s campus. It’s his black hair that’s everywhere all at once, it’s his all-black outfit, his black painted nails and the small black gauges in his ears, all of which that make Kei think of a certain AC/DC song. It’s the piercing on his brow, the way he’s sitting with his long legs stretched out in front of him and the bright smile that crashes with his intimidating look. Everything about Kuroo Tetsurou screams.
“Have you at least heard good things about me?”

At first, it’s funny.
It starts with a text that Tetsurou reads under the table during a meeting because, even three years after the grudging you’re tolerable (be still, Tetsurou’s heart) and three months after the out-of-nowhere I suppose I could tolerate you on a daily basis, depending on how many square feet we’re talking, a message from Kei feels too momentous to save it for his lunch break.
All it says is, I broke your favorite mug.
