    Summary

It was a truth universally acknowledged that an angel in possession of no memory must be in want of a wife.

No, that was the wrong book. The wrong line. Aziraphale frowned.

“What,” the gentleman before him asked, “and I mean what, are you doing here?”

    -----------------

Or, two years after things fall apart, Aziraphale shows up at Crowley's doorstep without his memories. The easy part is getting it back, the hard part is getting them back together.

I don’t know what’s worse, texts Stefanos. Losing a match you know you could’ve won easily on any other day, or knowing you gave your best and it still not being enough to win.

I appreciate the early access to your drafts, but I think you meant to tweet this, Daniil texts back blithely. Then, when the vague panic creeping up his throat hasn’t settled down after ten minutes, he presses the call button.

He backs away from me, his eyes wide with betrayal.
"You're a... All this time you've..." Shang shakes his head. His voice is unbelievably fragile. "Gods, Ping, you're a girl?" he murmurs.
I let out a high, nervous laugh that does nothing to hide my distress. "You seem an awful lot more certain about it than me."

    Summary

The snow is thick on the ground when the Goddess appears in his kitchen, taller than usual and holding an axe.

George eyes the axe warily. “What’s all this about?”

“She has deviated from the plan,” the Goddess tells George, voice tight.

“Your plan had some holes to begin with,” remarks George.

    Summary

Let’s talk about a Susan who never moved on, who buried her family in English soil and spent the rest of her life trying to find her way home. She did not believe lions were kind, but she always remembered a bow in her schoolgirl hands.

She looked in every old wardrobe she came across. It was casual, everyday– the first day in a new lecture hall, she checked the back of the coat closet. Friends had her over for Christmas dinner and she excused herself to go the bathroom, checked every cabinet and closet, and then headed back in for pudding. She went home with a cute boy she met in a smoky little pub and she checked his wardrobe before she headed home the next morning, heels in hand.

She also went to college, got a political science degree she had to fight for. She got a byline in the local paper, a few ladies’ magazines, then a larger regional publication.

She had mimosa brunches with friends. She read detective novels, never touched fantasy, and finally one day she stepped through an old stone archway barely thinking about it and–-

She was standing in a treeless plain, all yellow grass and blue blue skies.
