Miles feigned a look of mild disapproval as he stepped through the door. “What did I tell you?” he chided, as if he wasn’t bursting with happiness at the sight of him.
“Probably something bitchy,” Phoenix replied, his face lighting up with a smile of pure sunshine.
Two weeks apart shouldn’t have been a big deal. Phoenix has survived far worse. But ever since Miles finally let him in, being apart feels unbearable.
Good thing reunion sex is one hell of a coping mechanism.

Summary
Miles feels it before he sees it. An uncomfortable pulse of pain traveling through the bond, then suddenly Phoenix is going down. Miles reacts on instinct, vaulting over the desk and diving to catch him before he hits the floor.
He can hear Apollo shout for someone to call an ambulance and Athena make the call. He tunes them out and focuses on Phoenix. His eyes are closed and his face feels hot to the touch. He is out cold, Miles can't stir him.
Worse than that, he can't feel their bond.
At all.
