Summary
Michael wasn't sure when it started. He couldn't point out one singluar instance that could be dubbed as the start of all this. If you asked him to describe it, he might say it was something like a snowball effect. It started small, something nobody, not even himself noticed, until it cascaded, picking up speed and eventually became so overwhelmingly large that it squashed him like a bug underneath a shoe.
Maybe it started with the bad grade. Or perhaps, his father's irritated lecture. It might have been the time he made Evan upset because of his frustration.

It was meaningless whether or not Sakura made assumptions about people because none of these people mattered to him.
It's not like he wanted to be someone who was completely isolated from the rest of social interaction, but it wasn't like he had the luxury of ever experiencing it.
And he supposed that if he did, it would hurt a million times more when he lost it.
So he figured; it was better to just be alone from now on. No one needed him, and he needed no one.

It's always been there. Since the day he was born, it has been there. Watching.
He can't always see it, only flashes of blues and purples at most, but Michael's pretty sure he's the only one who has. His mother always said it was his active imagination, Father always demanded he stop talking about it. He'd learnt to ignore it by the time Evan and Elizabeth turned up. That's when it changed.
