Jason is sprawled on his back, limbs tangled in odd folds of comforter, pillow slipped somewhere near his feet. His pajama pants are rucked to his mid-calf, twisted so their seams are off center. The sheets around him are damp with sweat and his shirt has been discarded. On his bare chest, is a scar.
The sunlight relieving the room leaves little imagination to its cause.

“Over here,” Alfred says firmly. His hand descends, clasping Tim under the arm and tugging him toward a medical berth.
And usually, Tim would insist he’s fine. Tim would pull his arm gently away from Alfred and maybe submit to a quick check up, but he’d do his best to make sure Alfred wasn’t worrying, he’d do his best to be okay.
But right now?
Tim melts.
Or, Tim is exposed to cuddle pollen during patrol...but he's fine. Right?

Summary
Jason wakes up with green in his eyes.
It's not unusual, not when most of his life is spent dealing with the Pit, but it's been happening a lot less than usual. He can finally go to sleep without having to get rid of the anger in his veins, wake up without feeling the restlessness of too much rest and not enough energy and rage expended, sleep without the sound of metal against bone screeching in his ears. He can control it better - force it down when he needs to, choke it with the promise of later violence and fear of hurting anyone close to him - he can turn the world red and erase the green.
But today.
Well.
Today's not one of those days.

it's April 29th. Jason is...not doing too well. Enter Duke Thomas and the Birds, stage left.

There’s a million reasons that can explain why Duke’s found himself living in Bruce Wayne’s manor and there’s a million more that can explain why this fact scares the living shit out of him.
The people here are the people that Duke’s looked up to ever since he first heard the names Batman and Robin. And now- what? He’s living with them?
Or, maybe, it'd be more apt to say that he lives in their shadows.
And he’s not sure he’ll be able to work his way up to their sides.
That’s not to say he’s not going to try. If there’s one thing that Duke Thomas does, it’s not giving up. He’s going to give this chance his all.
He just needs to find out where he fits.

Miles landed ungracefully in a heap, smacking into several trash cans and cardboard boxes on the way down. As he straightened up, he inhaled sharply.
This wasn’t his New York. Where were the colors? The energy? It was as if someone threw away all the things that made New York what it was and left just the gross, dirty buildings behind.
The rooftop access door slammed open, revealing an older man. Graying hair, lines in his face, though his pressed suit seemed to be out of place with the dingy-looking rooftop. Miles realized belatedly that he looked like a police officer - maybe the commissioner?
The older man glanced around, taking a long drag of his cigarette.
"Fuckin’ Bats,” he muttered, shaking his head. Miles watched, bewildered, as the man turned and simply walked back the way he came.
What the hell?

As the door opened Tim quickly disabled another three separate electronic sensors in the doorjamb by swiping them with a device that looked a bit like a thumb drive. “Walk where I walk,” he said.
He took a big step over the doormat, eyed the floor carefully, then took a careful skipped sidestep to another mat against the right-hand wall, where he removed his shoes.
“What the hell?” whispered Jason, still standing in the open doorway.
Tim pointed up. There was a net rigged up on the ceiling. “Pressure pads under the carpet.”
“I repeat, what the hell?”
After Tim completely derails Jason’s beatdown attempt by asking him for a hug, Jason’s first priority is to get this touch-starved kid more cuddles. Tim’s first priority is to avoid Dick’s traps.
Jason learns a lot about his brothers and what happened while he was away, and something about himself too.

Navia trails her finger over the edge of his desk, and he watches it with no small amount of curiosity. “It is my understanding,” she says as she comes around his desk, “that you have the rest of the afternoon to yourself.” Her fingers slide down one of the jacket’s lapels. “Is that correct?”
Neuvillette pushes his chair away from his desk, leaning toward her. “It is,” he says, inhaling deeply. His tongue slides over his lips and his pupils dilate as he watches her, as he breathes her in.
Coming to a stop at the side of his chair, Navia pulls at the top button of her jacket. Pushes it through the eyehole. His eyes lock on her fingers, watching them with rapt attention. Excitement flutters in her belly as she drops her fingers to the next button.
“Then I could stay a while.” She pops another button free.
Navia visits Neuvillette in the middle of the day, wearing nothing but lingerie under her coat.
