"Must've drank a lot of pain
Judging by the way it aches"

"He is only fifteen but the feeling is already an old friend of his and, still, he doesn’t quite understand it and doesn’t know how to be rid of it. Sometimes he feels like, if he could just touch Arthur in moments like this, curl his body against the solid figure of the other man, then everything would be fine.Other times he feels like he should run in the other direction and never come back."

Summary
Rozanov is looking at him intensely, mouth pursed in a smirk, eyes alight. “You eat dinner?”
“What?”
“Dinner,” Rozanov says, “Is meal you eat in evening. You have it?”
“You’re asking me if I eat dinner?”
Rozanov tilts his head. “My English is not so bad, I think.”
“No, it isn’t,” Shane says, although he’s still confused by Rozanov’s question. After a beat, where all he can focus on is Rozanov’s thick eyebrows, Shane confirms: “Yes, of course I eat dinner.”
“Good. Me too.” Rozanov is still smirking. Shane’s starting to think it might be his default expression. “We have that in common: playing hockey and eating dinner.”
Or: Five times Ilya Rozanov tried to ask out Shane Hollander, and the one time he succeeded.

“So… “ Shane's eyes glittered in the dim light. “You wanna do the same thing as last time? Because I could be amenable to that.”

Summary
His father would accuse him of being weak, of letting his heart lead him to stupid places. But for once in his life, Ilya can’t bring himself to care about this. He wants Shane. He wants to coax his boyfriend into ordering takeout from that place they like around the corner from Ilya’s apartment and cheating on his diet a little. Then he wants to blow him on the couch, and he wants Shane to ride him. They can shower afterwards and put some highlights on the TV before falling asleep and ignoring Shane’s alarm the next morning. He wants the peace they had at the cottage during the season, to steal those moments and get to exhale.

Were they actually fighting about Ted fucking Lasso? Shane buried his face in his hands and let out a long groan. Maybe he should’ve picked something else to watch, but it was right there, and it said continue watching, and it was so easy that how could he not? Plus, he’d been dying to know who was going to win the final match, because it turned out soccer was way more fun to watch when it was fictional.
OR: Ilya and Shane discover that marriage comes with its fair share of arguments and most of them are silly. One of them isn't. (5+1 fic)Bookmarked by onlyifyourun

Summary
“Ilya Rozanov,” Shane repeats slowly, letting himself taste the words. He grins. “Wow. You’re, like, a really good player. How come you’re in Canada for summer camp? Is that weird to ask? Sorry if that’s weird. I just meant-”
Shane is cut off by a hand on his mouth. He flushes.
“Too fast,” Ilya says. “My English… not good.”
“Sorry,” Shane mumbles into Ilya’s hand. Ilya grins and shakes his head, curls dancing, as he pulls his hand away.
“Is okay. Slow words. Okay?”
This year marks thirteen year Shane Hollander's third summer at Coach Marakov's elite hockey training camp. In attendance for the first time: Ilya Rozanov, visiting from Russia. Shane isn't the most sociable, and Ilya's English isn't the greatest, yet the unlikely duo soon become the best of friends.
It's just one summer, but it makes a world of difference.
