Summary
The sun is warm on Ignis’ face as he stands at the window of the hotel room in Lestallum. He stands there so long he can sense the sun drop out of the sky, the shadow of evening drawing the warmth away.
He hears Gladio preparing for his mercy run: a round-trip to the Crown City for medications that will ease Prompto's pain.
Gladio comes to stand beside him. It's a few moments before he speaks, and when does his voice is loaded with grief. "I don’t think he’s got more than three days in him."
They are long past hiding their grief from each other. Ignis doesn't move his face away from the last of the sun's heat, and has to force his voice out of hiding when he says, "I don’t think he has even that."
(In which Ignis and Gladio once more see a brother to the other side.)

Summary
Prompto is supposed to attend the ceremony Ignis organized for the anniversary. For the Dawn. Noct’s official funeral, technically, since only the three of them had been there the first time around, and Noctis didn’t belong to just him, or them, anymore. Prompto promised he’d be there just before sunrise as long as he didn’t have to say anything, promised he’d stand up with Ignis and Gladio and try to honor Noctis the way he deserved. Actually pay attention to the sunrise with them this time, instead of burying his face in blood-soaked clothes and crying like the world’s ending instead of starting over.
But some asshole, dozens of them, all around Insomnia, starts lighting fireworks. Bright bursts of sound and color, all through the night before, reminders that everyone on this planet is happy that Noct is dead and Prompto’s only got two options left: explode or run.
So he runs.

Summary
Being seventeen meant he was horny, like, all of the time. Being horny all of the time meant his hyperactive dick took everything out of context. A stiff breeze in the park while taking pictures of ducks meant Prompto looked like some weird duck pervert. Noct’s hands loop the tie around his neck and start doing up the knot and Prompto furiously thinks about ducks and not about his dick because he is standing in his underwear in Noct’s closet with his hands doing non-horny things in front of him.
“Donald Duck casting Zettaflare in Kingdom Hearts 3 makes him one of the strongest casters in Square Enix lore.” He blurts desperately.
Noct’s hands still while he fixes Prompto with A Look.
“Donald Duck.”
Prompto shivers, like some stupid duck pervert.

Summary
Noctis wasn't a fool; he knew Prompto had a habit of
lyingmisdirection. Like they always had, the two danced around one another: Noctis lacked the words to articulate his concern, fumbling awkwardly as he tried to understand; Prompto would simply offer a sanguine grin as he skipped out of reach. He caught Noctis looking at him intensely at times, not staring but rather searching, as though he were a puzzle he couldn't figure out. Prompto's answer was a toothy grin and chipper wave, as if he didn't know precisely the question dancing on the tip of his friend's tongue.Day #3 for XVTober 2024: "Strong Enemies". Mind the tags.

Ignis can’t help but smile back, can’t help the curl of warm fondness that fills his chest as he turns to greet Prompto in turn.
Prompto looks surprised by the hello but it only takes him a moment to recover. “Hey, Iggy,” he says, pink-faced and pleased.

Steve’s nodding, absent little dips of his head. His eyebrows have set into his mule face. Danny wants to hug him, but also punch him; he might yet, both, either—the night is young. “Will you just tell me, please?” he repeats.
Or Danny's life takes a sharp turn on a random weeknight, and he finds himself balancing the murder investigation of a Colombian woman with figuring out what is causing Steve's odd behavior.
