Summary
Kathryn’s first instinct had been to correct their wrong assumption: it wasn’t the first time someone thought she and Chakotay were married, and it certainly wouldn’t be the last.
A planet Voyager needs to trade with only allows bonded pairs on its surface, but Janeway and Chakotay conveniently get mistaken for a married couple. Surely they can get in, get out, and not uncover any of their carefully concealed feelings in the mean time, right?
