Buck glanced at Eddie before looking back at Eddie’s partner. “Yeah?”
The man turned to Eddie in dismay, slapping him frantically on the shoulder. “Edmundo Diaz, you didn’t tell me you were dating Buck Buckley!!”
“Chim,” Eddie sighed, though Buck watched as his face flushed at the attention. It was adorable. Buck wanted to kiss him, see if he tasted different when his face was all warm. “Not the time.”
“Seems like the time,” Chim (?) countered. “We’re here, nothing’s on fire.” He looked back up at Buck. “Nothing’s on fire, right?”
Or an accidental kitchen fire unexpectedly throws Buck, Maddie, Eddie, and Chimney together for the first time.

“My Diaz boys!” Buck’s cheery voice came over the speaker. “I’m so happy you called! I hear we need to indulge in some Bake Off.”
“Definitely,” Chris nodded, not that Buck could see him. “Dad got hurt at work last night so we need to cheer him up.”
That wasn’t exactly how Eddie had wanted to inform Buck of his injury, especially when he heard the sharp intake of breath on the other end of the line, but that was the gamble you took when your kid was in the conversation.
“I’m fine,” Eddie promised. “Just a little sore.”
“His arm’s in a sling and he bonked his head!” Chris added cheerfully.
“I see,” Buck replied as neutrally as possible.
Or After weeks of texting, calls, and long distance Bake Off viewings, Eddie and Buck attempt a first date.

“Daddy, did you see that?!” Chris would ask excitedly from the couch, pointing at the television where big, hulking men skated around with a grace Eddie would never understand in a million lifetimes. “The other guy was offside but then Buck got the puck and he just scored a goal!”
"Wow, bud!” Eddie had no idea what offside was but Buck was Chris’s favorite player and goal was universal. “Good for him!”
“Buck is the coolest,” Chris sighed. “I want to be just like him when I grow up."
Which, you know, Eddie had thought being a firefighter was pretty cool but apparently it had nothing on a hockey player. Whatever.
Or Eddie Diaz takes his hockey super fan son to a game and while the crowd falls in love with Chris, Eddie finally notices Chris's favorite player, Evan "Buck" Buckley.

The tension went right back into Eddie.
“I don’t know, bud,” he began but Chris cut him off.
“You told me that if I was ever in trouble, I should call 911 or the fire department,” Chris parrotted his own words back at him. “Then either you or one of your friends could come help me!”
“I … I did say that,” Eddie agreed.
Or the new-to-LA Diaz family adopt a kitten who immediately gets herself stuck behind the washer/dryer and Eddie calls the local fire station to come help him rescue her. One firefighter in particular makes an impression.

As he makes his way from his hometown of Auckland to Perth for the wedding, he keeps bumping into the handsome but annoying Ed Teach. As misadventure after misadventure delays them both on their journeys, they finally decide working together might get them both there faster.
As the two travel across Australia, Stede starts questioning everything he thought to be true, about himself, about his life, and about just what is important to him.

Lucius really needed to be paid more if he was expected to both man the counter at this dumb coffee shop and help his two stupid regular customers actually speak to each other for once. Not that the matchmaker thing was technically his job, in fact Jackie had said specifically that it wasn’t, but the annoying blond man was so pathetic and actually kind of funny at times (although usually accidentally) and what could Lucius say? He was a philanthropist.
(He wasn’t sure if that was actually the right word for this but it sounded fancy and Lucius could stand to feel a little fancier.)

Stede Bonnet is an English major against his family’s wishes and wants to do something for himself. Luckily, some of his friends convince him to join them on a travel course this coming Jan Term.
A month around Ireland in a small bus makes for some close quarters. Definitely NO ONE is going to fall in love. ;)

Rare books dealer Stede Bonnet has just discovered the manuscript that could make his career: the diary of Tobias Smollett, former sailor said to have found the horde of the sailor’s devil, Davy Jones, and lived to tell the tale. Keen to have an adventure of his own, Stede and his assistant Lucius fly down to Barbados to authenticate the book and search for Davy Jones’s Locker.
Ed Teach knows all too well that Davy Jones’s Locker is a real place and is not keen to revisit it, happy with his boat and his tours and the vestige of a normal life. But Jack’s gotten him into trouble again and this handsome weirdo just might be able to help him out of it. He owes him and that means going back out on the water … again.
