What part allowed those heavy, leadened arms to drape over Higgs’ shoulders and rest there. No curled fists. No ill intent. Yet he feels the shiver of Higgs’ spine through the cloak and heavy armor that trills with dread for what hands will do to him. Maybe all they’ve ever done.
“No,” he declares. Because Sam is tired of it all. And so is Higgs.
