Kate was a light in the darkness, necessary to see what she was moving towards. She lifted up Yelena’s mood instantly, the mere sight of messy brown hair and startling blue eyes sending electric currents running through Yelena’s body like she’d stuck the tip of her knife in an outlet.

Yelena hesitated to answer, as she felt that Alexei had no true concept of the complexity of his own question. “There is something wrong with me," she replied, eyes fixated on her fidgeting hands, hands that shed enough blood to fill the Pacific. “I cannot help but feel… unfulfilled.”

All she cares about is how Jack welcomes her immediately, his hands resting on her hips and his gaze burning into hers as she grasps his face in her hands, closes the gap and finally is able to kiss him with the vehemence of a woman starved.
