Summary
Between the Cailleach—who watched him silently—and the swirling darkness of the rend in the fabric of the world, sat a squat circle of stones, built up into a small wall. A well. Either Merlin had not noticed it before or, more likely, it had materialised before him without his notice. He could feel how alive this place was with magic, though none of it felt quite right at the gateway that should never have been. The hairs on the back of his neck raised, as if something had breathed down it, and Merlin shivered.
It was now or never.
Merlin perched himself on the edge of the wall, swinging his legs round until they dangled into nothingness. With one final glance at the men who still argued, each one of them dear to him, he caught Arthur’s eyes at last. Merlin’s heart sank in his chest, as he watched Arthur’s jaw drop.
Merlin does what he must to pay the Cailleach's toll. Arthur is with him, even at the bottom of a well.

Summary
The Prince, despite his best efforts, could not stop his hand from shaking as he held his sword to Merlin’s- no, not Merlin’s- pulse. The boy tried to crawl backwards a bit, away from the sharp edge, but Arthur just moved forward with him. The sword trembled with adrenaline against the sorcerer’s pale skin. Arthur couldn’t help but notice the boy’s ruddy cheeks, bright red from the cold and exertion. The snow made light dance in his tear tracks. The neckerchief that Merlin commonly wore was discarded on the snow; It must have fallen during the fight. It left his smooth neck exposed to the cold, riddled with goosebumps, and unmarred save for the blood-soaked steel, pressing in on his pulse point. Arthur could not deny that the… thing wearing Merlin’s face was beautiful.
Merlin is forced to reveal his powers during an attack. Chaos and angst ensue. I feel like most people give Arthur too much credit in magic reveals.

Summary
“I wouldn’t touch the Major Arcana.” Arthur startled, nearly dropping the cards. He whirled around to the voice. “They get twitchy.”
An ornamental crystal ball fell onto the floor behind him, shattering into millions of tiny pieces.
Behind him was a man, probably near Arthur’s age. He registered the wide, bright eyes, pale skin, and dark hair. Arthur hadn’t heard him approach. Where did he come from?
“The—” Arthur’s eyes jumped back to the magician card, “Major Arcana?”
That sounded sort of... magicky
“Yes, yes, they get so full of themselves.” The man’s lips twitched, and Arthur was inexplicably drawn to the hint of his grin.
Or, a lot can happen when you take cover under a random shop's awning. Mostly, Arthur just wants to figure out why 'The Magician' card is always his future.

Summary
Arthur sat and stared at the door for a few minutes even after Merlin had left, idly chewing his breakfast, brows furrowed. Something felt off, a vague sense of wrongness, right from when Merlin had come to wake him up.
Arthur finds Merlin acting strangely, Merlin hears a voice in his mind, and memories become a weapon. Will Arthur manage to bring back Merlin or will they both be trapped as Camelot falls?

It's the first Christmas after his father's death, and Arthur is spending the holidays in Ealdor, visiting an old university friend for the first time in years. With his father gone and his sister unreachable, he isn't expecting much joy from the festive season, but it turns out this might just be the beginning of something wonderful after all.
