Summary
This is an AU ending to Cacophonylights's story 'A Change in the Weather'. I was approached by some fans to write an ending, and after a lot of hoop jumping (which included getting in contact with the author herself) I was given permission to right my own twist on the ending, starting from where the original left off. Summary
Yeon Sieun sees the world in variables. It is predictable, solvable, and neat. Every problem is just an equation waiting to be broken down and controlled. And he specifically likes it that way because it’s convenient.
So when he agrees to tutor a bunch of failing deadbeat students for extra credits, he thinks he got this in the bag.
That is, until he’s assigned to Ahn Suho. An annoyingly gorgeous track-and-field athlete with an attention span of a goldfish. Suho is everything Sieun can’t predict: loud, impulsive, emotionally chaotic... and infuriatingly attractive.

BaekJin and Baku centric“I would’ve left all of it, Baku. If you had just asked. If you had just looked at me one more time like you used to. I would’ve burned the Union to the ground with my own hands.”
He gasped, curling in on himself, his body a knot of pain and regret.
“But I didn’t know how to ask. I didn’t know how to be soft. I didn’t know how to be loved.”
He remembered that little boy—the one hiding in a corner, fists clenched, heart begging. The one who flinched every time someone raised their voice. The one who learned that the only way to not be hurt was to hurt first.
His voice cracked.
“No one ever stayed for me.”
Another sob. Sharp. Gasping.
“I just wanted someone to stay. Just once.”
