If it's not said outright, chances are he won't get it. It's a bit of a curse, really. That he takes everything literally. He's realized this by being best friends with the queen of subtly. Thankfully she sees Shadow for who he is and is literal with him. Others? Not so much.

One-sided sunflower (Sunny has a crush on Basil), one-sided sunburn (Sunny has a crush on Aubrey). Whether his feelings are reciprocated or not is up to you, since you can interpret it however you want.
● This fic is canon to my other fic (said fic is about what happens after the good ending), “To all the days we were together”, although that fic is not focused on romance and keeps the characters’s romantic feelings ambiguous.●
