Phoenix feels guilty. Every damn day of his life since losing his badge, it follows him. All the way into Kristoph Gavin's arms, with Edgeworth a continent away. But it's a fine tightrope that they're walking on, and when a photo of Edgeworth falls out of Phoenix's wallet, the balance is disturbed.

Phoenix fought so hard for Miles Edgeworth. He tore himself apart to try and fix the things that were holding him back. But after Edgeworth left for Europe only a week after Phoenix lost his badge, he was vulnerable, desperate, and would take any love he was given.
At least, that's the story that Phoenix tells himself sometimes. To justify waking up next to Kristoph Gavin.
