“tell me, do you wish you could touch me?” it wasn’t the words that were romantic but the connotations. aki stayed silent for over a minute, “don’t dream of all the ways things could have been.” perhaps that should’ve broken his heart, make him weep so badly that aki had no choice, but to comfort him, yet all he can feel is acceptance and a bit of comfort. the feeling is mutual, but it can never be more than that.

"Generally speaking," Dazai says, and he doesn't sound anything like the Dazai that Chuuya knows, "I can't imagine I'd go through the effort of faking my death when dying is both easier to achieve and more of a pleasant experience. Though it depends on the how and the why, of course."
"Bastard, stop talking in circles and–"
"Boss, huh?" Dazai says, and Chuuya breaks off. It sounds wrong, from Dazai, and Chuuya lets Dazai go. Dazai drops down to both knees, and then sits there, gazing past Chuuya and looking at the makeshift shrine on the imposing wooden desk. There's something dark in his gaze, and it's almost comforting. Almost, because it's familiar; it's a knife in the darkness that Chuuya has watched bring down hundreds of people.
"What," Chuuya snaps. "Going to tell me you want the position back?"
"Back," Dazai murmurs, drumming his fingers on his knees before he finally climbs back up to his feet. His hands go into his pockets, his posture relaxed and easy, and none of it makes any sense. "Chuuya, was I really?"

Satoru hasn’t had to worry about the bounty sitting on his head for a long time. He forgets it there. It means nothing to him besides the occasional bounty hunter that attempts to fight him. Moving away from the school should have restarted that nasty anxiety that lived in him like a second skeleton for much of his younger life. But he’s the strongest sorcerer. He’s Satoru Gojo, Six Eyes. He has died and been reborn better, greater, clutching the power of existence in his palms.
Satoru barks a hysterical sounding laugh. He rubs his hands up his face, leans back and laughs at the smoggy sky.
“My birthday cake, that I ordered this morning at five thirty, was poisoned. My kid who hates sweets took the first bite and nearly died because of it.” Satoru wipes moisture from his eyes. Let out one last breathy laugh. “Someone is going to die.”

Sanji sighs. He’s still leaning on Zoro, he desperately needs Zoro’s steadiness as his feet occasionally trip over one another. ‘’I’m doing just fine,’’ he responds, barely audible.

Summary
Kiryu’s eyebrows scrunch and his eyelids flutter. Majima watches him come awake slowly, well acquainted with the series of minute twitches and flinches and flexes that flit across his face as he comes out from under anesthesia; he emits an unaware grunt, right on schedule, and Majima can’t help how it tugs up the corners of his mouth. At least this was proceeding along as expected, unlike their ill-fated little date. Kiryu may be a chronically unlucky, accident-prone tangle of self-sacrifice and unexamined trauma… but he is also a creature of habit, which makes him comfortingly predictable to anyone who bothers to pay attention.
Five times Kiryu is just straight up not having a good time, plus one time that goes slightly better.
