Summary
Mia Fey spends a year in the city as a child and happens to befriend two boys at school.
After disaster strikes and the ruin of the Fey Clan becomes inextricably tied to the ever-tightening noose of the city courts, three separate people find themselves on three separate paths to the same destination: Mia Fey, who lost her mother; Miles Edgeworth, who lost his father; And Phoenix Wright, who lost them. Unraveling nearly two decades of cascading tragedy won't be easy, and it can't be done alone - but is a simple common goal enough to bridge the rifts that have formed between them?
An AU fancomic where Mia was childhood friends with Phoenix and Edgeworth. Begins when they were children and will continue through the trilogy. More canon-parallel than canon-divergent. Features transcribed text.

Summary
“Please, Mr. Edgeworth! Please! You know how the police in this country are - how our laws are. You’ve seen the way people are rewarded when they try to do the right thing the right way,” In a kinder world he could have disagreed with her, but they’re not in a kinder world, they’re in Los Angeles. “I don’t need the police. I need a good man who wants to help.”

Edgeworth makes a mistake that has him straying farther from the path of the courts than he ever has and, even worse, it could mean other people are going to go down with him. After seven long years abroad, his ill-advised stint back in Los Angeles forces a reunion of allies who had long since gone their separate ways. It'll take one last big turnabout to right the wrongs they've done.
Just one big job, then everything can go back to normal.

This isn't a 21 Jump Street au but god help me if I couldn't come up with anything as good as the working title.
Ten years after the Japanese government officially reveals the existence of psychics, Special Esper Force detectives are going missing in what may be one of the most impressive serial killings in the nation's history. For lack of options, department head Teruki Hanazawa is forced to pull his last and least favorite detective into the field. Meanwhile, a mysterious redheaded youth and his equally extremely mysterious friend Ritsu are hiring The Greatest Private Investigator of the Twenty-First Century to go digging up dirt on cops, and Seasoning City's first and foremost conspiracy theorist my actually be onto something. To top it off, somehow the whole thing ends up digging its roots in with one of the country's largest corporations.
The rest is just a simple matter of untangling these threads.

Summary
There is no word in the English language to explain the gap between knowing something and understanding it. The world is too large and vast to experience in its entirety and so when one wants to be as prepared as possible there will always be some spaces where the concept, the idea of a thing is there in a way that can not become tangible until you are confronted with it.
This is how Norman feels the first time he sees a dead body. To paraphrase, there are no certainties in life except death or taxes. Norman figured neither would be relevant to him for a very long time.
He got it half right.

Summary
It occurs to Phoenix to be self-conscious about the lack of shirt and the tears that are steadily making their way down his face, dripping from the tip of his nose, but he can’t bring himself to care anymore. “This isn’t about suits,” she says, soft.
“No,” he mumbles, defeated.
