    “We finally meet again.”

    Till’s face scrunches up like a crumpled piece of paper. His eyebrows are furrowed and up so high, his eyes squinting yet wide. And his lips curve in all directions. He’s using every single nerve to try to piece together what the fuck is happening.

    He flicks his tongue at his bottom lip to wet it. Like when you lick your thumb to grip the page in a book, he’s trying to somehow grip a thought to form.

    Till blinks, and then he asks an octave higher than he’s used to, “I’m sorry. Who are you?”

    The pretty stranger, Till deems him. Looks at him with this blanched look. His eyes widen, which almost seems impossible with how big they already are. Like a deer in the headlights. And he looks almost sad.

    A new student transfers to the small countryside; mysterious, handsome, and claiming to know Till. But Till has no memory or idea of who this stranger is, should he?

    Till just wanted to stop getting rejected.
    He wasn't asking for much. Just... a chance to feel wanted. No humiliation.
    And definitely not someone asking for his best friend's number right after breaking his heart.

    What he didn't expect was that, after a sleepover with his two weirdo friends (and an idea that clearly should've stayed a joke) he'd end up involved with what might be a humanoid robot.

    Because the next day, "He" showed up... with the EXACT description Till had given of his ideal partner.

    The problem?
    - He'd asked for a girl.
    - "He" seems programmed to love him.
    - Till is not ready to fall for an algorithm with abs.

    ... Or is he?

    See? With the art block and fields being on complete opposite ends, he didn’t even catch sight of the team once. Okay, maybe he saw some of them in the halls sometimes, but fuck it, everyone goes to the hall, alright? Anyway, he didn’t really have an opinion on them, since the guys weren’t those stereotypical bully jocks, or whatnot. They were known for being civil, if nothing else.

     

    …

     

    So tell him why they started approaching him, asking about his opinions on romance, occasionally mentioning his romantic preferences.

     

    Tell Till why the entire team suddenly decided that it would be totally normal to visit him after class, around campus, and call out his name (and how the fuck do they even know his name?), ask him random questions, and just leave?

     

    I don’t know; ask Ivan.

    “Arrogant bastard,” Till mutters, already getting to his feet.

    He slowly releases his leg, like his body is still stuck to that damn ice, that irritating perfection. Ivan bows again—dry, respectful, calculated down to the last degree. Nothing beyond what’s required. When he straightens, his eyes scan the stands without hurry, automatic, professional.

    But even so, he finds Till.

    “Arrogant bastard,” he mutters again, already standing.

    Between cold, gleaming ice rinks and dinners charged with ulterior motives, Till finds himself lost in his turbulent relationship with Ivan.
