After Lucy is forced to use deadly force in the line of duty, Tim finds her in the tunnel and does the only thing the job allows him to do, he reads her the protocol. By the book. Completely.
But Lucy is hurt in ways she isn't saying, and the night is far from over. An ambulance. A question neither of them expected. A hospital. Interviews under fluorescent lights. The long drive home in the rain.
This is a story about two people who know exactly how to hold themselves together for the job, and what happens in the small hours when there is no more job left to hold onto. About the things that get said above a whisper, and the things that don't need to be said at all.
