Summary
As the Tripartite Framework settles like a cloak over Yokohama, the city-state begins negotiating in earnest with the rest of Japan. Hero Society is rightfully wary of the Quirkless City, but open to reintegrating their civilian population with each other.
If only either side were a little less proud, perhaps Chuuya wouldn't be attending UA as a first year in a 'show of good faith.' As things are, he's all too aware of his role as a barely-kept hostage, all while actually being a poorly-concealed mole.
The timing couldn't be worse, with his assignment beginning shortly after what Dazai has dubbed the 'Stormbringer' incident, and amidst the brewings of what will one day come to be known as the 'Dragon's Head Conflict.' Nevertheless, Chuuya has fallen into his role as a Mafioso with a spotless record of mission completions, and he doesn't plan to change that now. At the very least, being so far from Yokohama means he won't have to deal with Dazai's bullshit for a while. Right?

I really like the way Chuuya is written in this fic, especially with Stormbringer having recently happened and everything being raw and painful for him. I think OP does a really good at juggling lots of different perspectives and plot points

Summary
Dazai Osamu is a name known for belonging to the Port Mafia's infamous Black Wraith.
Underneath that, however: he is still just a boy trying to figure out if living is worth it, and what it means to be one half of a partnership. Perhaps the two matters are related, perhaps he'd rather it that they weren't. Regardless, Dazai isn't all too happy to have his partner separated from him so soon after the 'Stormbringer' fiasco.
If asked, he would argue it's not because he's concerned- but rather because his dog is too inadequate to complete such a complicated mission while recovering in enemy territory alone. And who else would have to intervene to fix the inevitable blow up, if not Dazai? He and Chuuya are unfortunately stuck together, which means they're each other's responsibility. It just sucks that the government outside of Yokohama seems really interested in Chuuya's history.
Chaos is still brewing, and the newly dubbed 'Soukoku' are right in the middle of it all.
[This work is both a prologue and a tag-along to the main installment 'Broken Windows'. This is also the second iteration of 'Broken Mirrors,' so some of you might've seen the first version and recognize this from there.]

Ango sends Dazai undercover to retrieve a lethal, unknown weapon. Enter Chuuya, the kind of scientist Dazai wasn't expecting to meet.
(Or: For the sake of his mission and the fate of an unknown number of people, Dazai was not supposed to catch feelings. For once in his life, he actually failed.)

Summary
Nakahara Chuuya has felt fear before.
Of course - most people have. Children, especially. The world is a frightening, vicious place, and when people are young and vulnerable - experiencing everything for the first time - it is natural to be afraid.
However, most of these fears are mundane. A monster under the bed, the dark, or heights.
Yokohama City burning to ashes around him is far from mundane.
