Summary
Immortality isn’t living forever - that’s not what it feels like. Immortality is everybody else dying. She might meet someone she can’t bear to lose. - The Doctor
And then he encountered Ashildr, and Donna’s words echoed in his head, echoed in the TARDIS, in every pulse and beat of his hearts. Her words sounded as he looked in the water and saw the face of Caecilius staring back out at him. Her words sounded as he looked at the multitude of boards around the console room and as he approached the last board, as he reached out for the piece of chalk and wrote the last of the equation.
Donna’s words, the words that seemed to have unknowingly been the cause for his current face, the cause for his actions and behaviour since he gained it, echoed and pounded and raged around and around and around as he made the necessary adjustments and prodded the TARDIS into movement.

Summary
Peter’s grandmother’s favourite saying was that the Nemeton is old, the Nemeton is wise, the Nemeton is vengeful and it will take what it feels it is owed regardless of will. Protect the Nemeton and it will protect you, but betray it and you will feel its wrath.
Before the fire, Peter didn’t understand, but after it….after it, Peter understood all to well.

Mike drains the last of his scotch, sets the glass down firmly on the top of the bar, and walks up to where Harvey and Jessica are saying goodbye. “I can’t do this anymore. I quit. I’m leaving the Serious train. I’m abandoning ship. I’m giving up. I’m surrendering. I’m walking out. I’m outta here. Have a nice life. Harvey, fuck you and your blonde-34C-legs up to here-very female-bartender-slash-model.”

Summary
“Why’d you buy your house, then?” Jamie asks.
Roy sighs. “Because an estate agent told me I should.”
“D’you like it?”
“I hate it,” Roy says heavily, and it’s surprisingly freeing to admit out loud. He sits back in his seat, feeling like an elephant has stepped off his chest.
“So sell it. Buy something you like. Life’s too short, right?” Jamie says, like it’s so easy.
It actually…probably is that easy. In the grand scheme of things. He just needs to ring an estate agent, put his house on the market, and buy a new one. People do it literally every day. Jamie Tartt figured it out, so it can’t be impossible. Fuck.
