Summary
Eddie’s trying to plan the evening’s soundtrack in his head when he catches sight of Dustin Henderson.
The kid is on his own, sitting on the ground outside the school building. His back leaning against the school’s phone box, like he was hoping someone might ring. He looks completely pathetic, crumpled up and small. He’s basically the only person left in the parking lot; even the teachers have long fucked off home.

Or: Eddie, Dustin, and Steve meet in the Hawkins High parking lot.

Summary
It’s quiet. They’d sprung him as soon as the trial was over – every guard and bailiff all nodding their head to him, complete with a polite Mr. Wright. They’d been like that even when he was behind bars – all bowed heads and apologies, still seeing him in the shadow of someone he used to be.
Or: Aquitted from his murder charges, Phoenix makes a call to an old friend.

Summary
Dan Humphrey’s summer is not going as he expected. Georgina’s gone, and he’s keeping one of the biggest secrets he’s ever kept. He’s acquired many new and varied skills, including but not limited to: burping babies effectively, singing lullabies while cradling babies, buying cute woollen hats for infants on the internet, living on nothing but soda and takeout, keeping sharp objects out of reach, and many more such talents he has never needed before.
Thank god for Nate Archibald, hm?

Summary
Dan can’t help his eyes from drifting back to the young lady every time he looks up from the cinématographe. Even in the dark, her silhouette stands out, her large puffed sleeves creating a slight gulf in the mass of people on either side of her. He feels as if that gulf might exist regardless; there is something about her, something untouchable.
There simply isn’t much for his mind to do as he cranks the machine, so he often finds himself inventing stories about the people who pass through. This lady, he believes, is likely an heiress of some sort. Not an oil man, her father, but something more intellectual—publishing, perhaps, or something fashionable for the rich that is far more lucrative than Dan knows. Her cape is trimmed in a lush fur.
or: Blair, Dan, and the moving picture.
