“Yes.” Livingstone replies shortly. He lets out a short sigh. “The Cold War may be over, but the world is more dangerous than it’s ever been. The nature of our enemy is… unclear now.” Case stiffens when Livingstone stares directly at him, eyes narrowed. While the gesture itself is aggressive, Case reads it as caution. Good. Livingstone should be afraid of him.

Summary
As soon as the last riot shielder is crumbling to the ground, Case is leaping over the body as best he can with the launcher still on his back and a pistol in one hand, the Cradle singing in his veins. The Voice is silent for the first time today. He relishes in it, despite the unsettling presence of the Cradle. He leads the group indoors, not pausing to adjust for the light or smoke.
The building is burning in small patches but the smoke is getting thick. Woods crawls out from the destroyed ops room and Adler drops to his side.
“Can’t – can’t let her get away,” Woods gasps wetly, rolling over to reveal the gouge on his side.

“T-minus five, four,” Tawnla takes a deep, shuddering breath and tenses his core. “Three, two, one.”
