“If they disagree, then they can’t be very qualified.” Edwin says this simply, like it’s just a fact of life. Like it’s plainly obvious that if anyone thinks Charles is stupid, it’s they who are at fault.
Or: Charles grew up poor and is likely to stay that away, his job at the magic store notwithstanding. By the time he meets Edwin, he's decided that he wants a new life. This was all the beach year's fault. That damn ocean had worn away the sharp edges he'd had in place to protect himself from shit like this, and he hadn't been able to build them back up in time. He'd never admit it, but kids had always been a particular soft spot for him.
And Angus was a brat, but fuck, just this once Taako didn't want to leave it all to dust in his wake.

“I just want to make sure I have this right,” Trent says, taking a moment to form the clarifying question in his head before he asks it. “If I had told you that I had feelings for you before you left London, it may have prompted you to realize you’re bisexual at that time, as opposed to fairly recently, and also to realize that you…felt attracted to me–” He barely avoids tripping over those words, they sound so absurd to his ears. “–and that would have made it more challenging for you to follow through with your decision to return to Kansas.”
Ted’s mouth quirks up into a small flash of a smile.
“You got a question in there, Trent?” he asks. Trent takes a breath. Fucking hell. Does he?
“Yeah…” he draws out. He swallows. He trains his eyes on Ted’s, no lower, not even a fleeting glance. He tilts his head. “Can I kiss you?”
Or, the AFC Richmond Family (complete with Ted and Henry Lasso) goes on holiday to Disney World, Trent and Ted confess some (but not all, at first, but eventually!) feelings to one another, and a considerable amount of hotel sex is had. Hip hip hooray for a Disney vacation!

"Aye!" says Dani. "Like the time you told me we should tie our shoelaces together to practice running up and down the pitch. That was a good idea, until we faceplanted and had to get stitches."
The lads murmur in agreement. Jamie says, "Yeah, it were the stitches that got us, weren't it," as though that was the problem with that particular idea.
