His skin is flushed with the heat from the shower and his hair is wet, slicked back. It is darker now, no sun-kissed highlights.
He has scars, reminders of times he should be allowed to forget. He is older now, freshly mysterious, but he wears the same skin.
And he’s trembling.
Eddie stares at Steve as he slowly lifts his low-lidded gaze. Steve locks Edide with a softly questioning look, hazy until he blinks, followed by a scowl when he realises who it is. His lips are pink and pursed.
‘Wayne asked me to- sorry. I’ll give you some space.’
‘Don’t-’ Steve hugs his knees, says it to the towel. ‘Actually, you can go.’
Eddie lingers, never can follow orders, even when he wants to.
‘You want me to-?’ Eddie asks, ‘I can get Wayne to come, if you need help getting up or something?’
‘Sure, amazing.’ Steve says, but he’s quietly seething, ‘Whatever.’
Eddie knows Steve. This is his version of playing nice. He’s giving Eddie an out.
Eddie would very much like an out, doesn’t like not knowing what to do with himself. So then, why does he move forwards, go further in?

Summary

A week later, the rundown trailer next door to Eddie is full.
At first, Eddie gets it. Hargrove and Harrington are both assholes, so of course they’re together. Sure, the fact that they’re gay is a bit of a shock but the fact that two dickhead jocks would choose to be together—makes perfect sense. But after weeks and then months of sharing cigarettes with Harrington whenever he needs to escape the screaming fights waiting for him inside, things shift in his head. Eddie doesn’t get it anymore.

Eddie Munson is shirtless, wearing nothing but boxers leaving his pale tattooed covered skin exposed. His long curly hair pulled up in a bun letting Steve do nothing but stare at that fucking lickable jawline (did Steve mention that he has a soulsucking, heart throbbing, gut twisting crush on Eddie yet) that is damp with sweat just like Steve’s. He looks paler than usual, because let's face it, Eddie has really pasty white skin normally. But one thing Steve doesn't fail to miss is the tent in Eddie’s boxers. His big brown eyes are different, pupils blown wide as he eyes Steve with nothing but hunger.
“Steve.” Eddie growls, and the dark tone of his voice makes Steve wet. Hot dripping slick running down his balls in his boxers. Shit.

“Need to record your hypothesis and observations before you come to a conclusion, Parrish?” It sounds hurt. Ronan takes a breath. “You could, you know. Explore this, or what the fuck ever, if you need to do it, to know. You could do…anything you want to me.”
Ronan’s skin turns ruddy, first right above his collarbone, then his neck.
Out of control, Adam steps forward. “It would be…awkward in school if something happened between us.”
“Who the fuck would I tell?” It’s hypothetical, and the longer Adam watches him, the more defenseless Ronan looks, the more uncertain.
“Can I?” It's a question that means more to Adam than Ronan could possibly know. Adam Parrish never asked for anything in his life. He’d learned that very early on. Only now, was it something he was actively practicing.
Ronan’s breath comes harsh through his nose. He jerks his head once.

He’s not even good at it. Steve can barely get the hump of clay centered on the wheel and he refuses to get stains on his clothes. It’s fucking clay. It comes out in the wash. Steve’s shirtless approach to pottery is borderline offensive to the arts.
