Alastor, Altruist, Died for his Friends. That was the headline. Vox made sure it was plastered all over Hell the moment he'd seen that demon flee for his life. After he remained missing, Vox accepted that he really was dead. Dead and gone. No rival. He and the Vees were now free to rule Hell as the Overlords they'd always dreamed of being, and the plans were finally in motion.

Summary
Cypher. Fifth agent of the VALORANT Protocol, resident information broker, hacker, blackmailer... not exactly the most trustworthy guy in the room. Through all his years at the Protocol, the mask he wears and the robotic voice he uses ensure that no one ever sees past the surface. And yet, his role in the team could be argued to be the most important of all - and when the agent goes missing on a mission gone wrong, it sends the entire Protocol crashing down.
Amir El Amari. A man of mysterious origins, and a past that not even himself can recall. It is as though he appeared out of thin air, with only a name and the clothes on his back. To hire such a person to manage the Protocol's deepest secrets, well, even Brimstone had second doubts. But with a mysterious blackmailer threatening their secrecy, the Protocol can't go on without someone to take Cypher's place, and Amir happens to be a perfect fit for the role.

“What’s your name?"
His mind blanked, and there was a long pause. “I don’t—I can’t remember,” he said, his panic rising as he realized he didn’t remember much of anything at all. Whenever he tried to think of who he was and how he’d gotten here, there was simply…nothing.
Sage and Brimstone exchanged a glance. “Is there anything you remember?” she said.
He shook his head, then stopped. A name floated into his mind, and he held onto it. “Amir,” he said uncertainly. “I think my name is Amir.”
Four times someone didn’t realize Amir was Cypher, and one time Amir didn’t realize he was Cypher.

Cypher is not a good man. Perhaps he isn't a bad one, but Omen finds wrong in the things he has done and continues to do. He can't stand by after what he witnessed on the latest mission the two were part of. He can't turn a blind eye. Not when the man he respects so much may be worse than he could have ever imagined.
