“It’s not a real kid, Chase.”
Chase is technically underage, he’s a year away from being able to drink but the bartender didn’t bother to check his ID. Chase has always looked a little older than he was, it works in his favor now.
Nobody at a hero bar like this would assume he was so young.
“How the fuck do you think that?” Chase asks, spits. His hands still shake with the memory of it. The beer in his hand shakes with the tremors of his hands. “How the fuck do you do it?”
Mechaman sighs, deep, disappointed. He leans back, taking his whiskey with him.
The rest of the Brave Brigade was downstairs, drinking in victory, dancing with the other heroes, celebrating.

Summary
“Dost thou know me, fellow?” came a voice. The speaker was obvious; Henry would know that voice in his sleep, know it in death, but it still took all the effort he had to bring his gaze towards those horribly familiar eyes.
The spitting image of Robert Lanyon, decked in all the finery a New Year required, lounged lazily against his window ledge, sly grin dancing across its face. Henry needed to remind himself that Christmas had passed; this was no Marley come to warn him of his doom. Henry Jekyll was not Ebenezer Scrooge. Not yet, at least.
Henry Jekyll is alone on New Year's Eve, scrambling for a reason to go on, leaning on mind and memory to tide him over. Of course, nothing in Jekyll's mind is ever that simple.

Summary
