Going on a supply run alone is not the best idea. Nor can staying alone in the house be called smart: judging by others' tales, it never ends well. Only one option remains: if you're going to stir somewhere, do it in company—even a small one. Simple arithmetic. The Homeowner doesn't have many candidates for an escort—just the one lodger from the living room, who survived both crazy neighbors and creatures skillfully mimicking people, and others' nervous breakdowns, and everything else that this damned life generously dumped on his head lately. This valuable asset, ready, by his own assurance, to stand up for himself and the comrade found in the cataclysm, leans his palm on the dried-out porch railing—an impatient, uncomfortable pose, hinting at the necessity to move out as soon as possible.

You should feel anger, disgust—anything but this strange, misplaced softness that blooms in your chest. Yet something about the way he shies away, looking like cornered prey has your heart in a chokehold. Your chest tightens painfully; your heart lurches, pumping heat to places it shouldn’t.
Then those innocent, lifeless eyes meet yours. The words tremble out like a prayer, shivering and broken,
“Y-your hands are so warm… p-please, touch me.”
Or,
Sleepless nights and unrelenting desire consume you whole, with relief coming only through sex. Then he appears like a dark angel sent from hell, his presence impossible to resist, magnetic and yet suffocating like that of a black hole. He draws you in, desperate for a connection you cannot seem to resist. (aka you end up fisting the hole in this man’s stomach)
