Logans transness is perfect and fits his character and his world/worlds. With no people, food, or resources our merry band makes do to spend a night around the campfire. Even in a world so young, there are enough dead for a good ghost story or two but the real chill comes after the fire goes out and they lay to rest. Good thing Vash has Wolfwood to keep him warm in the darkness.

Wolfwood’s palm landed on Vash’s forehead, heavy and warm and edged with the sharp bite of calluses.
The world went white.
Vash had learned long ago that time was different for humans. They needed nearly a quarter of a second to react to anything, and Vash had fundamentally shifted his systems to stay aligned to that, because life got boring fast when everything moved slower than you. But the weight of Wolfwood’s hand on his forehead opened up the gulf between the click of the second hand, and Vash was falling, falling, falling, through endless milliseconds of blinding light as a bell tone rang in his bones and started to vibrate outwards--
Deep inside Vash, a door labeled NICHOLAS D. WOLFWOOD opened to let a spark through, one unmistakably flavored with cigarette smoke and gunpowder and all-encompassing guilt. A soul with a direct line to his. A connection between two fucked up points.

“Woah!” Wolfwood’s hands fly, perhaps instinctively, to catch the kid’s back. (Antonio, Vash recognises; Tony for short. Vash was there when his mother was pregnant, but hadn’t been able to make it for the birth. He’s growing pretty well.) “Hey, bud, what’s—”
Tony is upset beyond the point of coherent speech, already crying as he fists his hands in the collar of Wolfwood’s sweater. Wolfwood looks openly aghast, lowering down into a crouch to set him on his feet as he listens to Tony babble, and Vash’s eyes drop to his hands. They’ve adjusted now that Tony’s on the ground, hovering his back rather than holding it, and they tremble slightly, his fingers twitching like he’d like to place them back down.
He doesn’t, though.

He'd been cursed by the feeling of laying beside Vash in a warm bed, tracking the backs of his knuckles along his handsome face as he whispered little secrets about himself into the darkness, smiling, soft, careful. Beautiful in every single way. He'd been cursed by the sight of Vash, tossing his head back on the pillows and moaning Wolfwood's name as loud as weapons blasting in his eardrums, and it changed him.
He couldn't let anything happen to him. He refused to let this human shoot him, possibly kill him, hurt him...
He refused.
So, he shot him.
From across the town center, Wolfwood pulled the trigger.

Oh wolfwood I fucking feel that. The description of the panic attack was so so spot on. What crimes did you comit to write this well.
